I live by crossing boundaries

The camera is my instrument and my workplace is the whole Barents Euro-Arctic Region. But this is hardly large enough, for the North stretches around the entire globe. It is here I work and here I want to work.

It is here I find the light, the landscape, the people and the history that have taken root within me. It is here I find the changes, the contrasts, the inhospitable and merciless – side by side with the delicate and vulnerable. The northern regions are both the periphery and the centre. I draw energy from these intersections.

I can:

• tell stories with living pictures
  travel anywhere on short notice
• stand heights, cold, action and excitement
• dance with the camera
